Let's start off with the least formal style, which is still a very popular wedding dress code--especially in the summer. I call it dressy casual, or a daytime wedding look, and it's for those outdoor weddings that are informal, but still of require a fun, festive dress for the occasion. This sort of dress code might include a backyard wedding, a rustic country wedding, a beach wedding, or any invitation that says casual chic or something similar.
This cute coral dress, called the 'Sway the Foundation' Dress from ModCloth the is the centerpiece of this look, and I've paired it with ModCloth's 'Beauteous Bravado' Earring and Necklace Set to elevate this cute casual dress with a little sparkle. A pair of neutral pumps in a color close to your own skin tone will always be easy to put with any outfit and will let the dress stand out! I love the little lacy cut outs that dip below the hemline, and the bodice fabric has a great little bit of stretch and texture to it. A punchy color like this can stand up to other bright colors easily, so in addition to the colors in the necklace, a contrasting clutch is all you need to be wedding ready.

What about wearing this cute coral dress as a coral bridesmaid dress? I say go for it! It's easy to see how well this color would work for a wedding -- just put a bright bouquet with it like I did here! Semi-Formal Wedding Guest Look from ModCloth

The next style I think works for the majority of wedding invitations. It's a semi-formal look, which means you can go from a late afternoon ceremony to an evening reception and be appropriately attired at both times of day. For women, a cocktail dress like this one called the 'Game of Glam' Dress in Pistachio is the perfect choice for wedding guest attire. A light color like this can work for day to evening with ease, and in warmer months, I think a pastel like this is perfect for evenings as well. The lace details and the sheath style of this dress make it cocktail reception-ready, and this pretty mint color is so popular at the moment. The subtle high-low hem, is just the right amount of flirty detail, and the cap sleeve and keyhole back make this dress special, too. This dress is so comfortable to wear -- it's fully lined and has a nice stretch that is soft and easy to dance in. I love how this dress looked with touches of gray, neutral, and blush to accessorize and also the sparkling pops of peach, mint, pink, and blue in the 'Take Your Sweet' cluster earrings I'm wearing.

Now, it should be no surprise that I think this dress is great to choose for bridesmaids as well! It passes the add-a-bouquet test with flying colors. I also can see a mother-of-the-bride rocking this style, or a bride wearing it to her shower. Did I mention it's also a steal at $75?

Sometimes, you'll get an invitation to those formal affairs where only a full-length gown will do! If you do, I suggest a gown like the 'Do as I Sway' Dress shown here. It's a light chiffon gown that is ready to twirl in, and comes in a beautiful muted lavender color that seemingly shifts toward taupe depending on the lighting. A little sparkle is a must-have for any formal look, so I made this gown black-tie ready with my go-to embellished clutch, bracelet, and crystal earrings, like the 'Watch Oval Me' earrings. I also added a hairpin from the 'In Do Time' Set. This gown can also go more casual events. Just add some modern earrings, some less formal sandals and a loose hairstyle and this look more like maxi dress that would work for less formal weddings.
This Lavender Gown Works for Bridesmaids, Too!
This gown is perfection for bridesmaids! Long chiffon gowns for bridal parties are so hot right now, and this neutral color and easy-to-wear style is perfect! I might also suggest trying an embellished sash to dress this up even more.
