The Inspiration for the Fall 2020 Costarellos Bridal Collection
The following details about the Fall 2020 Costarellos Bridal Collection were provided by the design house to give more insight into the inspiration for this latest collection.
"Rooted in an imagined ancient Greece set in present-day, the brand stays close to its native Greece and commemorates the sacred olive tree with flirty yet timeless styles in Hellenic silhouettes.
Transforming Greek history into iconic dresses that live on, the designer looked to the Minoan Civilization. Focusing on clean, geometric lines with a line-up of sheath gowns, clean & simple ballgowns and newly introduced jumpsuits, the collection resonates with the civilizations’ tastes for the minimalist form and sense of geometry.
Although based on antiquity, the brand remains true to their DNA as various embellishments, such as sensual feathers, flirty beaded fringe, and luxurious laces, are incorporated throughout the collection to create designs that feel personal and special to each bride. This tone of “traditional newness” offered by this season’s looks, also brings refreshing and playful elements.
Drawing inspiration from Ancient Greece, where the traditional Chiton clothing was kept in place by a belt, the designer debuts his newly-introduced jumpsuits styled with “Grecian chic” belts, for an unconventional twist and fresh take on bridalwear. Antique in its inspirations and true to the house in its articulation, the Fall 2020 Bridal Collection is characterized by the timeless beauty of Ancient Greece with a touch of unconventional freshness."
