Mint Green Ties for Grooms and Groomsmen
Mint for a wedding color is gaining in popularity, and may always be a popular choice for spring or summer weddings. Today I'm showing you some mint ties to go with the collage I did a few weeks ago for a mint bridesmaid dress, and a mint mother of the bride dress. I've also (as usual!) been keeping a Pinterest board with ideas for weddings with a minty color scheme, too.
Why mint ties? Well, for the fellows it can be hard to find a tasteful mint green tie that doesn't look too retro-- like something out of Miami Vice. The great thing about mint color is that it can really range from a soft ice blue, to a pale lime green or grayish celadon - and picking a tie with lime green or gray green and blue accents will also give them overall impression of mint. I really obsessed over the tie colors for my own wedding, and my lesson was this: the ties don't have to exactly match the bridesmaids' dresses - in fact-- to me, it looks better if they don't. If they have a little bit of texture or accent color to them -- all the better-- and they'll look close enough in pictures to blend. Ties are also great way to bring in a little personality or the secondary shade of your wedding.
