Silver Lace Gown for a Wedding

I often receive questions about whether or not it's okay to wear light neutrals and metallics for a wedding. If you are in the wedding party as the Mother of the Bride, or as a bridesmaid I say it is appropriate! This is especially the case since the dress choice is usually made in consultation with the couple getting married. That said, the concern is still valid, since in some scenarios, a light silver gown can be similar to some of the gray wedding gowns we see now. However, usually silver gowns can read anywhere from a gray to deep pewter. So, as long as the coloring or silhouette isn't too similar to the bride's gown, I feel this color is a beautiful neutral choice for a member of the wedding party. For guests, as long as the dress has deeper gray or taupe, that could never be confused with white, cream, then gray dresses are a lovely choice as well.
