The recent blooms of peonies in my garden inspired me to create this look! I was looking at those fleeting flowers and thinking of how they always appear ( and quickly disappear!) this week in June. I wanted a more lasting way to echo to that vibrant pink and full tufts of petals, and I came across this perfect peony-like dress. The oversized skirt and subtle high-low hemline remind me so much of those fluffy flowers! To offset the volume, the dress maintains a wearable silhouette from its fitted waistline and beautifully shaped neckline. This dress is actually called the 'Pink Tulip' Dress at Rent the Runway , but I stand by my peony association. A dress like this is the perfect cocktail attire that works for semi-formal spring and summer weddings.
