Dark Blue Metallic Evening Gown

As soon as I saw this gown, I knew I wanted to feature it. With gold and silver metallic lines throughout the midnight blue fabric, it's like a meteor shower come to life in a beautiful silk dress.

I styled this celestial beauty with some accessories that have a raw organic look to them because I thought it was a nice contrast to the linear print and brought out some of the starlight feel I was going for. I'd wear this metallic evening gown to a formal fall or winter wedding, but it's actually appropriate for any season. (Love that about silk and navy blue!) I'd also love to see it on bridesmaids, but too many maids in this pattern might be a bit much -- perhaps use it as a special dress for the maid-of-honor to wear to stand out with other navy dresses.

The subtle shimmer of this strapless evening gown is undeniably smoldering, but I love how the navy and tailored style keeps from being too showy; it is definitely in the realm of elegant. Those strappy ankle sandals are quite something aren't they? I almost didn't include them simply because I hoped the ankle  detail doesn't get hidden too much under the dress. Be sure to kick up your heels and show off those shoes if you wear this ensemble!
